  3. Complete a request letter.
  4. Submit the form and a copy of your Aadhaar in the following step.
  5. The branch will link your Aadhaar and your account after the verification process is finished.
  6. An SMS with details on the status of your request will be sent to the cell number you registered. 

Updating Aadhaar Number Through Phone Banking


You might be able to link your Aadhaar with your bank using this method if your bank provides Phonebanking.

To link your bank account and Aadhaar, you must dial the Phonebanking number, follow the on-screen instructions, and choose the appropriate choice.

To finish the process, you will need to enter your Aadhaar number and confirm it by pressing the “Yes” button or entering a code on your phone as directed. 

How to Check If Your Bank Account Has Been Linked with Aadhaar

You will often receive an SMS on your registered cellphone number or email address from the bank informing you of the status.


You are unlikely to find any instructions on how to verify the status of your request on the UIDAI website if you intend to link your Aadhaar to your bank account.

To find out if your account and Aadhaar have been linked, contact your bank. 

The steps that were followed in this process were:


  1. Step: Visiting the official website
  2. Step:You then had to navigate to the ‘Aadhaar service’ category and select ‘Check Aadhaar & Bank Account Linking status’.
  3. Step:Once that was done, enter your 12-digit Aadhaar and the captcha provided. An OTP would then be sent to your registered mobile number.
  4. Step: On entering the OTP and logging in, a screen with the status of your request would be displayed.
  5. Step:If the linking was successful, the page would read ‘Congratulations! Your bank Aadhaar mapping is done’.
